Making your house a Home

This year I really want to make my house a home, a reflection of me and my family. As my family are growing up and some have left/are leaving home there's been a shift in where we all spend our time. There may be an opportunity for a sewing room/study. Should I be that excited about having a dedicated sewing space, well I am :)
I've been putting up pictures and photos on the walls and looking through memorabilia. We all have precious things we've hidden away, lets bring them out & show them off.

- Make your house a home window -

The window has been decorated with easy peasy bunting (kits will be available this year) using Linen Blends it's so effective. I have a few of the at home.
They have antique lace hanging (given to me by my mother in laws family) as well as a beautiful crocheted bunting made by my friend Lisa

The new Windermere is in stock, it has a lovely
country cottage style to the collection

Orla & Bettine

The Windermere Collection
Linen Blends are also available

A full collection of Janet Clare books available 1-4
These books really do have some amazing patterns and ideas on how to make things for you and your family.

I'm making a butterfly quilt shown in "A Field Guide" using an antique cloth (given to me by my father in law and has been sitting quietly in a draw). This is quilted and then used, unlike it's use before, sitting in my drawer.

Janet Clare's new quilt patterns now in
Chick Chick Chicken & Come to the Farm with me
More additions arriving in March

My box of treasures
This suitcase was my Nannie's, inside I've put letters, photos,
mixed tapes and journals.

Janet's Artisan Apron adorned with lots of embellishments

Bias Binding trim on the pockets & my little bunting line

On the back I've added a flower corsage &
I cut a piece off a charity shop doily

Abigail Nobles brooch is also shown at the front alongside a necklace I've had since my children were small, it would keep them quiet on the bus :)

So now the sun is out and the lighter nights are calling there's definitely that Spring feeling in the air. If you're having a spring clean and you find your keepsakes lets get them out, display them and enjoy the memories attached to our special things - Helen -
