Have yourself a Merry "Little" Christmas

The countdown is on, that festive time of the year is fast approaching. I'm so looking forward to spending time with family & slowing down. There'll be a bit of sewing here & knitting there, heaven. Here's what I'm hoping to do over Christmas (see I said hoping).

I've made a start on the 1st of the Moda Frivols - Kindred - Hello Darling -
It's made up of Album blocks. I'm piecing on the machine but these small construction pieces could be hand sewn

I've not had chance to work on something like this for a while, these Frivol kits are the perfect excuse to make a beautiful quilt.
Frivols no.3 & 4 are still available

I've made the Janet Clare Artisan Apron, now all I need is to have a little fun to embellish and adorn this wonderful garment.
Lace, flowers, appliqué buttons. Also some tiny bunting using scrap fabrics I think. Embroidery thread at the ready :)

Speaking of Bunting I'm seriously addicted to these easy bunting flags. Using a diamond template simply cut out your fabrics to the size of the diamond. Fold over the garden twine to make a triangle, then use a running stitch to secure to the twine. I still have some to make, a perfect sewing project whilst watching Christmas movies :)

Now for some knitting. I'm making this poncho using Bergere Wool. I just love the colour. It's made up of two pieces, I've finished one and working like mad to finish this in time for Christmas. I started knitting about 4 years ago and have numerous hats & cowls/scarves. I'm venturing into larger projects now. The fun never ends :)

A lovely customer of mine has been helping me knit in the round.
I'm working on my first pair of socks.
This bamboo blend is variegated, doesn't it look fab.

Appliqué projects & block of the month will be researched for next years "Sew Now" sessions. These begin again on the wk commencing 5th Jan. We'll also start on our first Community Project - Project 2016 -

For now, have a wonderful Christmas & New Year. Thanks for all your support & loyalty it's meant I've enjoyed another Christmas here at The Little Fabric Store, here's to many more - Merry Christmas - Love x Helen x

- Opening Hours -

The Shop will close at 4pm on Wednesday 23rd December & re-open on Tuesday 5th January (see opening times below).

Christmas at The Little Fabric Store

Christmas has arrived at The Little Fabric Store, yay. I've finished the Dashwood Advent Calendar, I love it. You can make this by hand or on the machine. If I had a little extra time I'd have embellish the design with added sparkle & sequins and embroidered the numbers.

I machine stitched the pockets & hand quilted around the Christmas Tree, Baubles & Reindeer's. I added pink ribbon tags to highlight the pink pockets.

I watched the whole thing, totally captivated. Janet's way of creating her pieces are so inspiring, it's very organic. The way her pieces tell a story and have such a personal touch.
